Individual therapy / counseling is based on a healing relationship between therapist and client taking that takes place over a series of meetings intended to address the concerns and emotional difficulties of the client. This requires an openness to exploration and a courageous willingness to experiment with change.
I view the present, unfolding moment as vitally important. It is from the "here and now" that decisions are made and healing takes place. This does not mean that exploration of the past or consideration of the future is unhelpful or unwarranted, but that all such exploration needs to be firmly anchored in our awareness of the present.

I believe that "talk therapy" can only achieve so much. Far too often counseling focuses solely on the mental and emotional realms, neglecting the wisdom of the body. Experiential engagement with one's experience is an important component of health and well-being. After all, we are human beings, not simply human brains.
In addition to verbal exploration, I am always interested in exploring one's physical experience, body language and total awareness. When you say you are angry, what does your body do? Do you experience tension in your shoulders, heat in your chest? How do these physical sensations trigger your emotions? And how can this emerging awareness help you to make different choices?
Blending conversation and experience, I utilize the process of therapeutic counseling to help you complete unfinished business in your life and come into greater awareness, power and wholeness.
